Friends Of Grasvenor (FOG)
Who are we & what do we do?
We are the PTA for Grasvenor Avenue Infant School. We organise and run all the fundraising activities for both the children and adults. FOG is made up of a committee of parents and teachers who meet every couple of months. There is also a team of helpers who feel they are unable to commit to the meetings but still wish to help out at events. If you would like to get involved, please speak to Clare Russell.
FOG’s main events throughout the school year are:
Music on the Lawn: Live Music, BBQ and Bar family event on the Lawn (weather permitting). This is our first event of the year and is a great way to meet old and new parents.
Movie Night: We run this several times a year showing a popular children's movie with supper and popcorn included.
Storytelling Evenings: This is a lovely event that is arranged for the children, they come back to school on a Friday evening in their pyjamas with a cuddly toy, have something to eat and then get told a selection of bedtime stories by members of staff.
Christmas Craft Fair: This is an interactive event for the whole family and includes additional stalls selling a range of Craft items / gifts.
Christmas Present Shopping We provide an opportunity for every child to purchase small presents for family or friends at a cost of £1 each
Visit from Santa: We organise for a special visit from Santa who will see every child in the School and give them a small gift each.
Easter Eggstravaganza: A family event with lots of egg related Easter Fun.
Strawberry Fayre: The annual summer fayre is the biggest fundraising event of the year. A lot of work goes into organising this event and also a lot of help is needed leading up to and on the day. This is a really fun event and lots of people come back every year. The children put on some form of entertainment during the afternoon and there are lots of activities for the children to take part in. Not forgetting the strawberry cream teas, which are always popular!
Aside from these main events FOG also organises bake sales, non-uniform days, competitions for the children and the opportunity to buy Christmas cards which your children have designed themselves.
As a result of these events, FOG has raised a considerable amount of much-needed money to enhance your children’s education and learning experiences.
To keep up the good work and to continue to raise money for the school, FOG needs your help!
