Financial Notice to Improve: Grasvenor Avenue Infant School

Grasvenor Avenue Infant School was issued with a Financial Notice to Improve (FNtI) from the Education and Skills Funding Agency on 15 April 2021.  This notice is a written notice to improve the financial management, control and governance at the Trust.  It reflects the weak financial position of the Trust and continued concerns on governance and oversight of financial management by the Board.

Grasvenor Avenue is in a situation where there are financial challenges in running a small, 1 Form Entry School.  As such, Trustees took the decision in April 2021 to explore the need to close the school, as attempts to join other Multi-Academy Trusts were not successful and the long term viability of the school is not looking strong.

Actions have been taken to improve the governance and finances of the school and we hope that the FNtI may be lifted in the near future.
